The Stem Cell Research Center

Producing OnThe Promise

We’ve brought together a renowned group of scientists and physicians to drive stem cell discoveries to a new level—and to the clinic.  Our expertise spans the spectrum from basic science to translational research, and from developmental biology to transplant and regenerative medicine.

Stem cells have the potential to treat scores of devastating diseases. Our approach is based on the notion that an aggregated effort is greater than the sum of its parts, that when the abundant resources and vast accumulated expertise of a world-class academic medical center are applied to stem cell discovery, stem cells will be transformed into cures.

The Stem Cell Research Center is a center of excellence that applies findings from research in hematopoiesis, vasculogenesis, and the musculoskeletal system to the development of new biological approaches to improving tissue healing and function.  A primary focus of the Center is the development of genetic techniques to improve tissue healing and prompt musculoskeletal regeneration in cases of injury or disease.  The Center helps researchers reach these goals by  building and supporting worldwide collaborations between scientists and clinicians, and by bringing together basic research knowledge and clinical management.

Led by Dr. Johnny Huard and Dr. Bruno Peault, the faculty and staff of the SCRC are using cutting edge technology in cellular techniques, observation, and analyzation to seek out the answers to the cellular therapies of tomorrow
