Lee E. Weiss, PhD

Dr. Lee Weiss is currently a Research Professor in the Robotics Institute at Carnegie Mellon University. He also holds a Courtesy Appointment in Materials Science, Engineering and Biomedical Engineering Department at Carnegie Mellon. Dr. Weiss serves on the Director’s Committee of The Engineering Design Research Center and The Institute for Complex Engineering Systems.

Dr. Lee Weiss received his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. Dr. Weiss is on the Technical Committee for the Working Group: ASME, Manufacturing Engineering Division Technical Committee on Biomanufacturing. He is also on the Editorial Board for Tissue Engineering and a corporate Co-founder for Setagon, Inc. in Charlottesville, VA which is developers of drug-delivery stents, Bonecraft, Inc. in Pittsburgh, PA, Developers of computer-aided orthopedic surgery systems and Infiniform, Inc. in Palo Alto, CA, Manufacture of complex ceramic shapes. Dr. Lee Weiss is a consultant for several companies in Pittsburgh area, which include; BodyMedia, Inc., University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Shadyside Hospital, Digital Equipment Corporation, Children's Hospital and Magee Woman's Hospital and several other as well. He was also a member of several government panels some include; WTEC (World Technology Evaluation Center) and Office of Naval Research MURI review panel and several Program committees.
