Dr. Giovanni Speziali is currently an Attending Cardiac Surgeon and an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Dr. Speziali graduated from the University of Pavia, School of Medicine in Pavia, Italy and also graduated from the Residency Program in Cardiovascular Surgery at the University of Verona in Verona, Italy.
Dr. Speziali previously was a Staff Associate Surgeon in the Cardiovascular Surgery and Transplantation Department in the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He was also an Attending Physician and Consultant in Adult Cardiac Surgery at the Policlinico di Monza and Torino/Rapallo Hospitals.
He is a member of the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation, a member of the Mayo Alumni Association and a member of the ANMCO (Italian Society of Hospital-Based Heart Physicians).
Dr. Giovanni Speziali is fully trained in all aspects of cardiovascular surgery that include adult cardiac, pediatric cardiac and heart and lung transplantation surgery. As an attending physician and consultant, Dr. Speziali has performed over 800 unsupervised open heart procedures (adult cardiac).View Publications
